Surgical Hospital in Jabal Zawiya, Idlib, Syria
On March 2013 Orient for Human Relief established a surgical hospital in Jabal Zawiya in the southern countryside of Idlib. The hospital functioned both as a field hospital where acute and urgent cases were handled, and as a clinic for non-urgent cases. The hospital is directed by an orthopedic and a general surgeon, in addition to Orient Ambulance System nurses. The hospital is equipped with an ambulance to respond to patients injured by Syrian regime bombings, and to transfer critical cases to Atmeh Hospital on the borders.
The hospital provided surgical services for the /34/ villages of Jabal Zawiya, in addition to injuries transferred from other places. It also provided minor surgeries, and free medical examinations and medication payed for by Orient for Human Relief.
